What hot water heater do you replace the atwood tankless hot water with? Do you have to cut and modify the opening and if so what kind of trim do you use?

Thanks for the information.  No problem with my 10 gal heater just thought it would be more efficient not heating the water until it was needed.

Probably best to stick with what you have. My ls37ik was optioned with the tankless atwood water heater and had terrible reviews and didn’t work. You have a aluminum framed ares and its about 12.75×12.75 and I chose to not modify it. I ordered a Furrion tankless . I hope the 2015 technology has improved.  Will keep everyone updated.

Just an update on replacing my atwood tankless hot h2o heater. I replaced with a Furrion tankless, ordered from Etrailer. First one came damaged and Etrailer was very responsive and sent a replacement and a call tag.  I replaced with second Furrion and upon operating I now have hot water. Next test to go rving for several days and see how well it works.

Last update on my replacement of atwood tankless water heater with furrion tankless water heater. It takes a little getting used to but on a three day trip provides plenty of hot water. Best to do everything back to back, dishes, shower etc. Water comes out hot faster with less waste. So far so good.

I think the combination of low water pressure in RV’s combined with low volume fixtures work against the instant on feature of tankless systems.

While a tiny 12-volt or 120 volt switched circulating pump works for the regular h/w tank systems – both less waste and instant on,  I think that you would need a much larger circulating pump (and maybe pipes) to trick a tankless system into producing hot water sooner.
