We’re wanting to add a residential refrig into our XTRM5. The refrig would have to be in the middle slide. We want to take advantage of having the “In The Door” Ice & Water dispenser. We do not have room in our basement for a portable ice machine. My question is, Is it even possible to run a water line for this with it being in a slide??? If so, how could I pull this off??? We are definitely going with the RR with or without a water supply but prefer “with”.
Thanks for any and all help.

        BW,

I looked at your floorplan on this site. You current range and frig ore in this slide. That slide has flexible propane lines running to it. A single flexible cold water line should be easy to tie into solid pex with a T a pex-adapter for the flex fitting – but not from your kitchen sink area – I think that would be difficult.

It would be great to hear from someone who has done this, or pulled out their stove or frige for repairs to see where and how the flex propane is routed, but i suspect that if you remove the rear black wall of the maine basement storage, at least on the drivers (off street) side, you will see where you need to go to get to the frige location. You may need to crawl or reach over the furnace, or temporarily remove (twist counter clockwise out or remove hose clamps) some of the flexible furnace ductwork to see it well.

I would tap into the cold water in your main basement storage after after your whole house filter or, as part of this job, plan on a spot to add an easily changed one in a convenient location in the main basement. How much of the line is 1/4 inch flex, 1/2 inch pex or 1/2 inch drinking water garden-style hose will be up to you and depend on what you see.

Hope you get more specifics, but you shouldn’t really need them unless you want everything there before you start anything. If it is special order, you might want to peak behind the black wall in the storage area before ordering the water unit, but if both are in stock, get to it but eat the frig empty first and plan for at least one dinner out.

        Good luck,

I have same model and wondered why Carriage wouldn’t put an ice maker in the fridge. It’s only this model all others the ice was an option. Hopefully someone will figure this out.
