- I have 2 “extra” pipe vents on the roof, directly behind the ac units. Someone suggested these are attic vent – to vent the space just below the roof. Can anyone confirm that? I opened one of them and it has insulation in it.Posted: 8:25 AM – Nov 10, 2016The vent caps were used to run wires to the roof, such as solar panel prep or direct TV prep. It is actually a good way to penetrate the roof, run wires and stay leak free. I added one, to the rear of my roof, to run an ethernet cable to the roof.Posted: 10:50 AM – Nov 10, 2016Our Cameo has the solar prep option and Carriage had run wires from the front compartment to the ‘roof vent’. You should see wires if you pull the cap off. If no wires, some manufacturers advertised an attic vent, not sure if that is the case with your rig.
