Has anyone run a thermostat wire?  We have to replace our Carrier unit, which was operated with a remote.  With the new unit we will have to run a wire to operate a wall mounted thermostat.  Is there a way to snake a wire?  We have a Carriage Cameo 33, really don’t want a wire run across the ceiling.  Any help will be appreciated.

        Ann,

It has been a few years, but most manufacturers had adapter plates that allowed you to keep the Carrier remote.  I think they cost about $125, but you are left with the same temp control at ceiling height versus a  home or modern RV thermostat at shoulder height.

You signature does not refer to your year or model ; text refers go just length.  Not much help.

I ran my thermostat wires down the duct.  Popped out duct, tgen along ceiling for about 6 inches, then down an easily accessible wall panel to shoulder height thermostat mount.  Also ran bedroom thermostat thru ducts to  near wall.

I used clear silicone caulk dabs to hold thin white thermostat wire to ceiling for the short runs.

Hope this helps.  Just sit back and look up.   Trust me, after install  you will notice infrequently if at all.

        John

John,  Our unit is a 2008 33 CKQ center kitchen queen.  That is good advice.  We were going to try to find the wire that we cut when we put the propane heater on it’s own wall mount stat, see if we could use that to pull the wire.  Chances are it is tacked in place along the route so your idea is excellent!  Thank you so much for responding.
