- Seals around back windows, all three! See pictures below, I did a search and couldn’t find
any thing. The window had lots of sun hitting it this summer I did place tarp over it.
I call these window seal but maybe I’M wrong!I haven’t dug in to this but feel like some one here can point me in the right direction.
Thanks for your reply.
Posted: 9:51 PM – Oct 24, 2013Are they dual pane? PhillipPosted: 10:38 PM – Oct 24, 2013Yes they are dual panes!Posted: 6:47 AM – Oct 25, 2013I have a few “seals” doing that as well. To me it looks more like a foam spacer not seal. Maybe anti vibration or some thing like that. Mine is not double pane. I noticed it on the window in the bedroom and by the kitchen table. I just pushed it back up into the opening but it does fall back out. Like I said i think it is just foam not a seal.Posted: 11:40 AM – Feb 04, 2014I don’t see the pictures, am I missing something? The foam seal on ours is detachind at the corners, I’m hoping that they can be reglued.
Any advise is appreciated. This is on rear lower windows.Posted: 11:30 PM – Feb 05, 2014X2maxtraveler wrote:I don’t see the pictures, am I missing something? The foam seal on ours is detachind at the corners, I’m hoping that they can be reglued.
Any advise is appreciated. This is on rear lower windows.Posted: 11:27 AM – Feb 06, 2014Ours is doing the same thing, luckily the material is hidden under the window valance and we can’t see it unless we look under the blinds. It looks like a foam cushion between the window frame and insulated glass. It might also be a thermo break between the aluminum to keep condensation from forming. Probably what happen is when Hehr Windows were making the window the foam was pulled and with time is shirking back to its original length. I think the only way to fix it would be to replace it and make sure when you put the new one in that you don’t stretch it.In our case I’m not doing to do anything with it because we can’t see it at the top and we have a couch covering up the lower portion of the window, but I’m going to contact Hehr Windows at: donna.darend@hehrintl.com — it’s the only contact info I have.
Posted: 11:58 AM – Feb 06, 2014My e-mail to Donna at Hehr Windows came back as undeliverable, sorry I must have an old address. I had used it late last year to get a replacement window. In my message I had asked her if we could get a source for the black foam to replace the material around the window. If anyone has a better contact to Hehr Window let me know.
Thanks
