I have a 2007 Carriage C-Force and the kitchen slide extends all the way out, but the top doesn’t fully seal.
As seen in the picture, the bottom seals completely, but the top stops before sealing against the wall.
Is there a way to adjust this, or something that needs to be repaired to allow the slide to square up against the wall?

Todd,
have you libricated the big black seals on the sides and especially the top of the slide. These are double seals, each being about 4-inches wide.
303 is great for that- it will take a lot of dry black oxidation off with a rag, leaving the seals squeaky clean.
carriage has a slide design where the innermost edge of the slide ramps up to ensure water does not enter, but if those seals get too dry, they drag against the slide roof preventing it from opening completely.
The sides are easy. The outside of the top is easily done with slide closed, but the slide needs to be a bit out to get to inside of the top seal – or get it from inside
unless you have done it recently, plan on a whole 16-oz spray bottle to get those seals and the 1-inch wide “D” seals around the lerimetrr of the slide flanges cleaned up.

The seals are clean and working properly. I’m pretty sure there is something mechanical keeping it from extending properly and completely.

Todd,
that slide movement is pretty straightforward.
if the rig is new to you, the previous owner might have adjusted the outer slide bolts incorrectly. If you have had it quite a while and it just started doing this, a bit more and more, try putting it about 3 inches from all the way out and have someone’s hand inside by the window while you push out at the top of the trim. The outer edge should drop down.

before you get too excited stick a ladder or get up there and take a look or run your hand along while not quite all the way out. Mine did that once in SC. Ended up being a couple of giant pine cones

I can push the top out all the way to the wall pushing on the top trim inside, but it falls right back in when I let off.
Is there some kind of adjustment?

I had the same issue with my dining room door side slide on 2012 cameo. I fixed it by adjusting the slide mounts accessed under the slide when it is completely out. Adjust both mounts equally. First loosen both horizontal bolts for each mount at least 5 turns of the nuts. Then loosen the lock nuts for each mount’s vertical bolt, and turn counter clockwise allowing the bottom of the slide to drop down. The top of my slide facia on the inside needed to move 1″ toward the wall. That translated to 15 turns on the vertical bolts. Turn both bolts a few turns at a time, then push at the top of the inside slide trim to shake the slide in the mounts. It will then drop down and toward the wall. Good luck!

KeymasterThere is a file in our Documents & Files Section that addresses the slide adjustment procedure. “Room Adjustment Procedure for Technicians”. It is in the Doc’s & Files Table of Contents scroll down and click on the “Slide Mechanisms” category. File name: Room Adjustment Procedure for Technicians It’s a 2 page document. Image shown here is the cover page. Maybe this can be of some help.

B.W. Gentry, I found what I think is the Doc – File page. It says I need to be a member to see files and I can’t find any links that I can open. I am a Gold Member.
Any info on how I can find the file would be greatly appreciated.

I was in the “All Access Area” / “Available Carriage – Lifestyle and Documents List”
Is this the correct place to find it?

Got it.
Thank you very much! I should be able to get it adjusted now. May have to modify the bracket though.

Todd,
If this is a new camper to you this might work because the former owner incorrectly adjusted this brackets upward. If this unit is not new to you…
do what you want to do, but I would caution you to look for pine cones or underneath the black belly fabric on the body of the camper not slide for something serious coming loose. You can remove the cross camper metal trim pieces and cut that fabric in the middle of the frame above about half way to the driver’s side, taping it back together when replacing it. The longitudinal metal trim at the outer frame edge on the door (passenger) side must be removed but that trim on the drivers side can be left alone.
Have someone operate the slide while you are underneath with a good flashlight. If you have had this camper for a year, I suspect stiff rubber seals on top, pine cones, or something has come SERIOUSLY loose on the inside not outside of those rails.Good luck
