- So I’ve been reading about the thetford toilets and I also have a problem with mine but a little different hopefully you all have the answer, mine is an aqua-magic style plus. here’s the problem, when I hold down the foot peddle to add water in the bowl the flapper door opens at about the same time as the sprayer starts to flow water. Is there any adjustment on the stool so I can fill the bowl before the flapper opensPosted: 3:26 PM – Apr 25, 2013I don’t think there is an adjustment for that but try taking the pedal off and cleaning behind it and put a little silicone grease on the peg that controls the valve and in the hole that the peg goes in. It’s probably just sticking and opening the valve too soon.

Posted: 9:12 PM – Apr 25, 2013It’s not one of those where you can put your toe under the flush pedal and lift it up to fill the basin with water is it?Sheff
Posted: 7:18 AM – Apr 26, 2013We press just slightly on the pedal until the water starts to flow. The ball valve will move to open, but it hasn’t quite opened yet, so the bowl will fill. It takes a bit to learn how far you can go with the pedal. Just push it as little as possible.Posted: 5:07 PM – Apr 26, 2013Just use a little silicone grease on the Ball Valve and Seal inside the toilet, follow Zack’s instructions and your problem may be cured.Nate
Posted: 7:23 PM – Apr 26, 2013As Zachlaplante said, just press lightly on the pedal until the water begins to flow down (the valve should not open). When you press harder, the valve opens and the water empties.Posted: 8:26 AM – Apr 29, 2013JohnR wrote:So I’ve been reading about the thetford toilets and I also have a problem with mine but a little different hopefully you all have the answer, mine is an aqua-magic style plus. here’s the problem, when I hold down the foot peddle to add water in the bowl the flapper door opens at about the same time as the sprayer starts to flow water. Did you fix your toilet problem yet?Nate
Posted: 8:27 PM – Apr 29, 2013No not yet I tried the silicone grease but didn’t help I think I’m going to try a new valve what do you thinkPosted: 8:59 PM – Apr 29, 2013The toilet ball shutoff valve (inside the toilet) could have worn mounting holes causing the vale to open sooner than required. The ball valve also has a pin that connects or contacts the foot pedal and the pin could be worn.Nate
