- Truck wars—I just got back from my favorite coffee shop where a friend was asking how I like my new truck. I said it was great and he was telling my why his new RAM was a better truck. It got me thinking that someday I would love to get a truck that had a Cummins diesel, with an Allison transmission and the ride of a F350. Do you think that would end truck wars? No, us guys at heart just like to argue.
I forgot, the DEF filler be not located next to the diesel filler, or under the hood.

That was the problem with the early Dodges, their transmissions could handle the power, but not at those low revs. It tore them up.Nice thought though!

Posted: 1:32 AM – May 06, 2014You’re very correct, truck wars will never end unless trucks become non-existent. A close group of buddies including my Dad all have the same mentality, and of course all own Fords. Our saying is, if you want or need or real workhorse then you buy a Ford. If you just want a play toy that does occasional work you buy a Dodge or Chevy.
I will also add back in 2012 I was originally shopping for a RAM 3500 but after test driving the F350 I was sold. It to me was that impressive.
Ok, guess I just injected myself into the war.
Kidding aside they’re all great trucks and comes down to personal preferences and or experience with them. They all have their quirks and issues.
Posted: 7:08 AM – May 06, 2014Trucks are like RV’s, one will have something that the others don’t and they all will have problems of some sort sooner or later. The perfect Truck or RV has not been built yet. So, ditto zman!!!B.W.Gentry
