The front left landing gear on our rig (2008 F32SB2) has been running slow for quite some time. Lately it has been getting worse to the point where it will sometime almost stall out. It will also click slightly when it gets to this point. We have separate motors for left and right so I have been using the good right leg to take most of load when lifting. Not ideal I know. I had an RV tech take a look and he says he tested the motors and found similar current consumption left to right. He figures the motor and gearbox are OK but thinks the jack screw may be bent.
The manufacturer is Venture but I have no idea of what model the legs are.
        Couple of questions
How difficult is it to disassemble these things? Any special tools required? Anyone know of a step by step manual?
There is no grease fitting so I am also wondering if it may just be a lack of lube? Thoughts? Where would the best place be to add one if one were to do so?
        Any other insights?

        Thanks -Rob-

The same amperage on both motor with a bent screw on one sounds funny. A bent screw would cause the amperage would jump up and down.

I think you are on the right track with the grease. If there is no way of greasing the lead (jack) screw then drilling a 1/8″-5/32″ hole in the outer tube (or maybe the top cover comes off) and spaying Lithium grease works….without seeing I’d suggest extending the jacks all the way and drilling the hole 6″-8″ from the top. You are aiming to get the grease on the jack screw.

If there is too much grease it will run out the bottom and make a mess for a long time.

The third page here has a cross section showing the inner and outer tube, jack screw and jack nut.
