I have a 32FWS and my wife would like me to install a washer/dryer combo.   My rig is pre-plumbed for the water, electrical, and drainage.  Looking at some units I have found them to be a little to big for the space.  Has anyone with a 32FWS ever installed a washer/dryer combo unit in their rig?  How did it fit?  I’m looking at a vented unit so I would have to cut a hole in the side of the slide for the vent.  Any advice would be appreciated.  Thanks

Hi Pat.  Our 32SB2 came with the unvented version of the Spendide combo.  We had a vented version in our Beaver Patriot motorhome which was MUCH better at drying, so I would definitely support getting the venter over the non-vented.

The only other issue we have is the thing wandering around in the compartment.  I placed a few pieces of 2″ thick foam from Michael’s store that solves most of that problem.

The thing is not lightweight, so I suggest enlisting at least a couple of guys to help muscle it into the cabinet, and place plenty of padding on the neighboring furniture.

We have a vented Spendide all in one that is over 10 years old.  We bought it new so it has held up well.  The trick is not to overload it.  It will wash more than it will dry in a single load.  The wife takes cloths that will wrinkle out before they completely dry and hangs them in the shower so it takes a bit of a learning curve.

The hardest part of installing it for me was getting the vent hole cut in the right place.  There is not a lot of room behind it so the holes need to match up well.  You will nee a 4″ hole saw.  I did have to relocate the water connections to cut the vent in our 36FW and I bought a single lever cutoff for the water off ebay.  Makes it easier to turn the water on and off.

The wife doesn’t love it but it’s much better than having to get out in the weather and go the laundry mat then having to deal with all the folks there.

          Good Luck!

I have a 32FWS and I installed Haier Portable Washer (google it), 1 or 1.5 cu. ft. capacity.  I did not want something heavy and this weighs about 40 pounds and can easily be lifted into the trailer.  I used a load lock and some straps to keep it in place and that worked well, didn’t move a bit.  For drying, we just air dried the closes in the bathroom.  Bought a collapsible drying rack that we store under the bed when not in use and set it up in the bathroom when we want to dry closes.  We try to time the drying when we are going out for the day or when we won’t be using the bathroom too much.  Turn on the bathroom fan (open the the vent of course) and get a cross air flow to help the drying.  You can also plug in a fan to help drying.  Even with the clothes drying, there’s no problem using the toilet.  We use the washer/drying for our longer trips and take it out for our normal (weekend to weekly trips).  We’ve found using the laundromat at the parks is really more convenient, you get your laundry done much quicker.  So, for now I’ve removed the Haier from the trailer for the additional storage and probably won’t put it back in.  But the setup did work great.

              Good Luck,

              Kevin

Thanks everyone.   I’m still thinking about getting a washer dryer combo unit.  I’m not to excited about adding 150 pounds to the slide.
