So, I purchased this Carriage CW374 because I was  coming to town for work and only for a year, so I figured why not buy something I can sell and get my money back later, right? I ended up buying this Carriage-Carriage because it was spacious and seemed nice enough for the price. The dealership took it to a park for me and now we fast forward to today as it is almost time for me to go back home.  I have been thinking about keeping it, so I start looking into the numbers. Holy Heck! This thing has a loaded weight of 18,8xx lbs. and a dry weight of 15,788 lbs.  What the heck trucks could tow 19,000 lbs back then in 2007?  Even now, I would need a 2018 2500hd to pull it. I do not want a dually and really have no desire to spend $50k on a truck for this, so I will end up selling it, but geez.  Seems like it is waaaay to heavy for that time.

      Thanks for letting me vent,

      Dan

We pull our Lifestyle 37CKSL 18k loaded with a 2020 3500 LTZ SRW 2wd. It’s OK but the 2016 3500 DRW was a better towing experience.

The SRW is easier to maneuver now that we don’t travel as much.

I tow my 2009 Carri-Lite 36Max1 (yep 18Klbs) with a 2001 Ford F450 Dually 7.3 diesel, rated at 26K. If I fully load it with 100 gallons of fresh water, it is still 200 lbs overweight. 26200. I just don’t fill it more than 1/2 when traveling.

California forced any 15000 lb diesel pre 2010 by not registering them. So there are a lot of deals for around $15K but you have to take them out of state.
