        Hi! I just bought an used 2011 Carri-lite from a dealer. When I first bought the unit, I saw a filter set up under sink and a separate faucet for it in the sink area. When I did the walkthrough, the extra faucet and filter were gone. I asked the dealer about where the filter was located for the 3M setup and they said they do not know.Since Carriage is out of business, I cannot ask them.

        I am sorry to be asking probably this very stupid question. I am new to owning a fifth wheel. I have the 36Max model. I am assuming the owner had set up a separate filter system for the kitchen sink, but I would I really like to be able to use the 3M system. I just do not know what filter to order and where to install it. :roll:

        Also, should I add a separate filter system at the sink like the previous owner did? Will that line also help with the ice maker in the freezer (i.e. so I get ice cubes from the filtered water)? I live in San Diego and the water here is not that good from tap. I plan to live full time in the RV.

        Our filter is behind the wet bay. There is a small wall panel in the pass through storage to access the filter and water pump. You can put a better filter in the housing. Most rv filters are not very good – 20, 50 or 100 micron. I put in a 5 micron which will remove smaller particles. Some people install reverse osmosis systems.

        The 3M B3 element filters to 0.2 micron, according to online specs. Unfortunately, the filter cartridge is getting epensive

        I have a 2012 Cameo and although I do not have a factory installed filter system, I installed a filter attached to my hose. It is easy to get to and filters all water before it enters the RV. I use a 1 micron filter.
